INFORMATION

Target Species

When planning an adventure, it is important to understand what you are getting into.  Sharing knowledge and experience is one of the most important aspects of being a professional guide.  It is our commitment to provide you with all of the information necessary to make sure that there are no surprises and that your valuable time isn't wasted.  The following are important topics to cover before your adventure in order to make it a complete success.

TARGET SPECIES

Snook, Tarpon, Redfish, Spotted Sea Trout, Jack Crevalle, Peacock Bass and many others.

PALM BEACH NIGHT LIGHTS - In Palm Beach, we primarily target Snook & Tarpon in the Intercoastal waterways and other inshore habitats.  We have found that the best fishing for these species is at night and through years of pursuing these fish, we have perfected our craft.  Why fish at night? It's more comfortable due to calmer weather, the lack of sun makes it cooler and there are less people on the water meaning less pressure on the fish.  But most importantly, it's addictively intense because you can actually sight fish in the lights and watch all the action unfold right before your eyes.

SUBURBAN JUNGLE - In freshwater, we target Peacock and Smallmouth Bass with the occasional opportunity for Clown Knifefish and Snakeheads depending on the location.  Peacock Bass are the favorite as they are an invasive and highly aggressive fish that make them fun to catch especially on light tackle.  They make for great photographs and South Florida is the only place in the United States where they can be found, as they are indigenous to Central and South America.

EXCURSIONS & EXPEDITIONS -  Florida isn't called the fishing capital of the world for no reason and Palm Beach is in the perfect place to access it all.  It's an easy drive to world-class fishing locales to target a wide variety of inshore saltwater game fish.  On top of that, our skiff provides access to areas that most other skiffs can't even get into.  We have taken advantage of this in our personal adventures and want to offer you the same experiences we've had in remote locations across South Florida.  THANKS TO ALL the interest and support, we are offering SOON our favorite location to camp and fish, the Everglades National Park.  We are familiar with both backcountry and bayside areas around Chokoloskee and Flamingo where opportunities exist to accomplish the Everglades Grand Slam: Tarpon, Redfish, Snook & Seatrout all in one day.

Advent

THE SKIFF

The Ankona / Salt Marsh Advent is engineered with state-of-the-art design elements centered around performance and the ability to excel in any fishing situation in the flats and shallows. As the latest evolution in technical poling skiffs, the 17'4" Advent is an aggressive, comfortable, tactical and versatile fishing machine. Capable of handling 2 anglers with gear and still drafting a true 6".  It's wider than most micros, with a 68" beam that increases stability, and handling, especially in rough water.  The hull design is nimble and delivers world-class poling performance with a radial transom that improves stealth and tracking. Finally, the centered weight distribution and increased deck space gives anglers a large and stable platform to fish from and move around.

My Advent has been tactically customized and fully rigged specifically with the most intense fly fisherman in mind.  Powered by a reliable and efficient 2022 Suzuki 60hp 4-stroke engine with top speed of 40 mph and range of 100+ miles, we can quickly and confidently traverse more water increasing fishing time.  The fishing areas are completely snag-free with added line management spikes on the bow.  The skiff is rigged with the latest technologies including an iPilot trolling motor for control and Lowrance 9" GPS system that allows for us to safely explore the most remote fishing locations.  On top of all this, ours has LED running lights for night operations as well as a 4000 lumen scene light for professional grade photography.

Schedule your adventure to see first hand why the Advent is worthy of being named the "Reel Intense."

WHAT TO BRING

Hat, Neck Buff, Long Sleeve Microfiber Shirt & Sunscreen - The Florida sun is intense on land but even more so on the water.  Make sure to protect yourself from the elements with proper clothing and apparel that block the sun and keep you cool.

Non-Skid Shoes / Sandals - In order to maintain grip and stay comfortable while being on your feet all day, we highly suggest a good pair of boat shoes or sandals that are non-skid and won't leave marks on the white deck.

Drinks, Food & Snacks - Although we supply plenty of water, if you want anything special like alcohol, sports or energy drinks, you are welcome to bring your own, as well as any snacks to tide you over.  We do not provide anything to eat except on camping trips which are all-inclusive.
